Our Web Strategists work to find and propose web-based solution(s) to both potential and existing clients, ensuring they get the most out of their website—we only win when our clients win! We need someone with a strategic and problem-solving mind, a little grit and a “make it happen” attitude.

 

This person needs to have strong communication skills—our web strategy team acts as the front line of the company, working directly with all potential and existing clients.

 

Previous training in sales strategy and/or experience meeting and crushing goals is a key indicator you might be right for the web strategist position. Being able to create a great website plan for a client is only part of the puzzle—we also need you to close the deal! We are looking for someone that LOVES the "high" of meeting and exceeding goals, but still disciplined about signing right fit clients to right fit projects.

 

Familiarity with technology and digital solutions, as well as previous experience either working in a website content management system or building a website from scratch would also serve this person well in getting started in this role.

 

The Qualifications We Are Looking For:

 

  • Previous sales training or measurable experience consistently meeting and exceeding sales goals

  • The ability to visualize a website sitemap (sometimes from scratch) and identify page type recommendations based on client goals, needs or requirements

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Naturally organized

  • Strategic and problem-solving mind

  • Resourceful and proactive approach to work

  • Enjoys breaking complex problems into clear action steps

  • Confidence in closing a deal, while maintaining humility

  • Experience researching digital solutions and using many different technology platforms (this could be in a work setting or in daily life)

  • Kind and collaborative spirit that can work both individually and in team settings

  • A “make it happen” attitude

  • Live in or near Bloomington, IL or have a willingness to relocate

  • Desire to find a long-term employment solution and commitment to at least 3 years on the team

 

You'll stand out if you have:

  • Previous experience building a website or using a website CMS (content management system)

  • Transferrable or related experience in visual design and/or project management

  • An understanding of SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and other web marketing strategies (paid advertising, social media marketing, etc.)

 

Web Strategist Job Duties:

 

  • Build relationships with our leads, seeking to understand their pain points & identifying opportunities where Cybernautic can guide them over identified obstacles.

  • Visualize the client's website sitemap and translate that to a detailed proposal — understanding needs and requirements, yes, but also making strategic recommendations related to types of pages and/or website functionality to enhance user experience.

  • Based on client feedback, craft a great website and web marketing proposal that meets (and sometimes exceeds) the client’s wants and needs at a fair price.

  • Have confidence moving conversations forward with a customer when the fit is right.

  • Able to walk away from a project when the fit is not right. We do not sign everything. We only sign projects that we know will be a home run for our team and for our clients.

  • Be more than just a door opener. You must be a closer; one that appreciates the thrill of signing and exceeding your goals.

  • Capable of brushing off each"No" and "Bad Fit" to get you one step closer to meeting the customer that is a "Yes"

  • Coordinate with the Project Manager & our whole team, playing the role of client advocate to knock projects out of the park!

 

Pay and Growth Opportunities:

 

  • Base salary of $45,000 - $50,000 with a quarterly bonus structure based on meeting and exceeding individual one-time and recurring sales goals.

  • End of year bonus based on company performance.

  • Possibilities for owning certain department or cross-department projects, ability to contribute to process improvements, and opportunity for cross-departmental training in some areas.
